After many, many years of working with some of the finest blues musicians in the world (Hubert Sumlin, PineTop Perkins, Kim Wilson, Levon Helm, Carey Bell, Skeeter Brandon, Johnny Whitlock, Mike Wesolowski, Charlie Musselwhite, Calvin "Fuzz" Jones, Max Drake and Bob Margolin just to name a few), Russ Wilson decided to put together his own band -
THE MIGHTY MIGHTY MEN.
This group of hand picked musicians is considered one of the finest bands in NC and the surrounding states playing jump blues, swing and old rock & roll. And all of this great music is done with their own flair and a slightly twisted sense of humor. When you see one of their shows you are guaranteed to have one helluva swinging time.
Since 2001 they have played club dates, swing dances, private parties, wedding receptions, festivals, divorce settlements, christenings, bar mitzvas, funerals, pool parties, car shows -
what ever else you can think of they can play for it.
At present they have 3 CDs out - ROARING AT THE RED LION, LET'S HAVE A SWINGIN' TIME and a brand new CD as of January 1, 2009 entitled WE HAVE FUN SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Their CDs can be purchased at their shows and online here. Don't miss a Mighty Mighty Show.
